The pathway
The VITEM XIV digital nomad category is for eligible people using information and communication technology to work remotely for overseas employers or clients. It does not permit establishing a local employment relationship in Brazil.
Prepare your application
Applicants generally need proof of remote work, a passport, health insurance and financial means. Official guidance lists income of at least USD 1,500 per month or bank funds of at least USD 18,000; confirm the checklist with your consulate.
After approval
Check registration after entry, residence validity and extension procedures, as well as family, healthcare and tax arrangements. Applications and extensions are subject to approval by the responsible authority.
