The pathway
The LTR Work-from-Thailand Professionals category is for remote professionals working for qualifying overseas companies. Income, employer and healthcare requirements apply; not every freelancer or remote worker qualifies.
Prepare your application
Follow the Board of Investment (BOI) checklist for your passport, employment contract, income, employer credentials and insurance. Some applicants must also provide additional evidence such as qualifications.
After approval
The initial LTR stay is five years and may be extended for another five years if conditions are met. Maintain eligibility and comply with reporting requirements; check work permit rules separately before working for a Thai entity.
