The pathway
The Employment Pass permits an expatriate to work for an organisation in Malaysia. The employer and position must meet applicable requirements; the employer normally submits the application through the relevant channel, subject to approval.
Employer and documents
Confirm the company and role are eligible with the employer. Depending on the circumstances, prepare a passport, employment contract, qualifications and evidence of experience. Check the authority’s list for document, translation and certification requirements.
After approval
Check entry, pass endorsement and start-of-work requirements, as well as validity, renewal and family arrangements. Before changing employer or role, verify whether a new application is required.
